Courses Offered :
  1. Morning Batch : 1st Batch from 7:00 am to 9:00 am and Second Batch from 9:15 am to 11:15 am. (Saturdays & Sundays) Twice-a-week
  2. Evening Batch : 6.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. (Monday & Tuesday) Twice -a-week,4th Batch from 5.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. (Saturday & Sunday)  
  3. Duration of the course is six months & 1 year.
  4. Classes will be held on every Saturday and Sunday ;
    Morning 7:00 am to 9:00 am and 9:15 am to 11:15 am, at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Campus , New Delhi .
  5. Bonus points will be given to students attending maximum number of classes.
  6. A vacation of 15 days will be there during the course duration ; the dates for which will be conveyed to the students well in advance .
  7. Participants should come for the classes in decent and comfortable clothing, appropriate for yoga sadhana.
  8. A Yoga retreat of 3-4 days, can be arranged with the consent of the participants. The expenses for which will be borne by the participating candidates, in addition to the course fees .The retreat will be optional and not mandatory for all.
  9. There will be a written test at the end of the course. Students must qualify to obtain their certificates; Pass Marks is 40 %. Total marks obtained will be mentioned on the certificate.
  10. One year Diploma Course in Yoga Vidya comprises of 2 semesters of 6 months each.  Ist semester is certificate course in Yoga Vidya.  Those who successfully clear the exams. (practical & theory) of 1st semester can take admission in the 2nd semester.  After completing 1st semester Certificate in Yoga Vidya and after 2nd semester Diploma in Yoga Vidya certification is given

  12. Two photographs have to be submitted; one for the identity card and the other for office record .
  13. Eligibility : Class X(Ten) pass
  14. The fees for the entire six months course will be Rs. 11,500/-, including examination and certificate . The fee amount has to be deposited at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan office and thereafter ; a receipt must be obtained.
  15. The fees for the entire 1 year course will be Rs. 23,000/-, including examination and certificate. The fee amount has to be deposited at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan office and thereafter ; a receipt must be obtained.
  16. Scope : After completion of Certificate in Yoga Vidya , one can work professionally too. But one should keep enhancing one's knowledge and skill .
  17. On any issue concerning this course , the decision of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan would be final and binding .
  18. Students should bring in note copy, pen and one chadar (bed sheet) , preferably white, for their practical classes . Yoga sessions will be held on carpeted floor. Kindly reach 5 minutes before the class begins.

Paper One : (Yoga Theory)

  1. Yogic Prayer
  2. Yoga ( Meaning , Introduction, all the eight limbs)
  3. Types of Yoga ( Astanga, Gyan, Karma, Bhakti, Hatha, Nada, laya, Mantra)
  4. Taking note of individual health problems of participants.
  5. Distractions in the path of Yoga and its immeasurable benefits, if one keeps moving along the journey of Yoga.
  6. Yoga Ahara (Yogic food) and nutrition.
  7. Prana : Five major ones and their importance.
  8. Human Body and its healthy functioning, with reference to the Yogic Science.
